Ivan Bilibin: “Baba Yaga”

A witch living in the forest, flying with a mortar and pestle and eating little children. That’s Baba Yaga. And beautiful Vasilisa was sent to get light from her by her evil stepmother.

Baba Yaga makes her do impossible tasks, in order to get an excuse to kill her, but thanks to the help of the magical doll given to Vasilisa by her dying mother, she manages to do all the chores in time.
